My garden has been glorious this year, which considering the year so far is a good thing. One must take one's consolations where one can.

The most bizarre iris I have ever planted must be Burseenesque.

So mysteriously I have ended up with some unlabeled iris. Most of them are yellow, which suggests to me that they must be bonus iris. I do not, in general, gravitate to yellow iris when ordering. Not that I have anything against yellow. I think I am just over yellow by the end of daffodil season. And there is also the damn rudibeckia, which pops up everywhere, even in the shade. But I digress. Here are the yellow mystery iris.

The iris in the bottom left hand corner seems like it ought to be easily identifiable. I think it must be a border bearded iris because of its height. It is nicely proportioned too. Maybe an IB?

I'm love the bottom left Iris. It's so cheerful.

This would have been a nice shot ... if I had swept the weeds away, had moved the iris rhizomes sitting on the block, and had blown up the unfinished building in the background.

This has been my year for mislabeled iris. In no particular order.

The label says this is TB "Port Wine". It definitely is not.

Labeled "Far Gal Valacia" ... not even close. Cute little space age horns though. I am a bit bewildered by this one. Pale peach irises do not really excite me, so I do not think I ordered it. The form on this iris is good. Lots of blooms, nice branching, no flopping falls. I think I will plant some variety of blue iris beside it, to offer some contrast.

Beautiful beds and blooms, Mary. I enjoy seeing landscape shots from others' gardens.

I love all your Yellows, even without their ID. Finally, your grounds are just beautiful. Living in the desert, to see all that green is always refreshing.

The iris continue to open despite the rain. I hope they do not fall over before the sun comes out ... which it is "supposed" to do tomorrow Glare . 'Home of the Blues' is a bonus iris I planted last year. I do not usually swoon over bonus iris selections, but I felt pretty swoony when I saw this one this morning. 'Guinevere's Kiss' is blooming for the first this year. I quite like her.
