Hello everyone! What plant in your garden has buds (or doesn't) expected to bloom in Summer of this year?

My oleanders (hardy white and red cardinal) are expected to bloom this year.

I'll definitely keep everyone updated, but like I said, what's going to bloom in your garden this summer?

Share it here! We'd all love to hear about it.

Everyone have a wonderful time chatting and sharing!

I am expecting a lot of great blooms this year. Some I am hoping not to see are some that I dug up and am giving to my DB and DSIL. They will take anything that I do not want. I am giving them garden phlox, Black-Eyed Susan, Siberian Iris, New England Aster, just to mention a few.

This is about the only thing blooming in my yard right now.

They're all so pretty, but the helleboreses are exceptionally beautiful!

Are those blooms from this year? And if not, what time are they expected to bloom?

Thank you! Yes, they're blooming right now. Hellebore is also called the Lenten rose and blooms in the early spring most places. I don't know if they need a chill period or not to bloom. They may not grow in your zone?

Probably not, because I am in zone 9a or b I believe. But either way (it's worth saying again) those hellebores are very pretty.

Kim many Hellebore are rated up to zone 9. They might not be as long lived with out having a cold season. I would ask at one of your local garden centers.

I will @NJBob! Helleboreses are very pretty. I'm looking at some hibiscuses as well, but I'm not sure if we will be able to grow any where we're moving (SD).

Depends what zone you are going to be living in SD has zones 3B to 5A. Hellebore should have no problem in 4 and 5. Hibiscus wise you will have to go with Hardy Hibiscus also rated to take 4 and 5.
