I decided to try & make an affirmations box.
I got the religious themed stickers & the glass jar from Family Dollar. I think the jar was $4 & the stickers were $2. The paint & copy paper came from Wal-Mart.
I don't remember ever painting anything glass so watched YouTube videos. The one I decided to go with put a little water & some paint in the jar, swirled it around, & then coated the inside with the paint by turning the jar. I then turned it upside down to drain like on the video.
I used too much water I guess because it didn't cover all the glass. So I did it again. And then left it turned upside down outside. I don't know if it was the sun, the water, or the kind of paint I used but huge areas just disappeared. So I went back for more paint while I had to work. But I didn't get the right color. Oh well, I thought. It would coat everything & you wouldn't be able to tell. Wrong.
One side came out almost perfect.
But not the other sides.
I decided to try hiding the screwup with stickers. I had gotten the brown paint to paint a cross on the lid but decided to go with stickers instead. I also put wax paper in the bottom & around the inside.
Finally, all 4 sides of the finished jar:
The colored paper will be cut up & written on with the Bible verses & positive affirmations. I think I will wrap jute string or something around the neck, & hole punch an instruction card to it somehow.
Edited: Here is a few of the cut up colored paper with Bible verses or positive statements. I wish my printer was working so I could type them out & print out instead of handwriting. My handwriting is terrible & this is taking forever!!!
Here are some of the things I'm putting in (in case anyone wants to print them out).

Thanks! I had been seeing posts on Facebook from people who were suffering from severe depression & anxiety, & then I also wanted to do something for my cousin & I remembered doing something similar as a Girl Scout leader.
