I would like to start watermelon seeds, zucchini, tomatoes, corn, squash and tomatoes. Is it too late to sow in small potting containers? Also I have peat moss which I purchased last year. What is it for and how can I use it to help my garden? Thank you.

It is late enough to sow directly into your garden. Starting in small pots is to your advantage only when you want to get a jump start on spring. Go plant those seeds!

Peat moss isn't helpful at all in this case. If you have some aged manure or any type of fertilizer, mix that into each planting hole before you put your seeds in.
