I got this single leaf kerrii for valentines day this past year (2020). I noticed a couple weeks ago this "stem" coming up from the dirt. Does it look like it would be a stem that new growth will come from? Or is it likely just a root sticking out of the dirt?

I would be sooo excited if it means new growth, here's hoping Crossing Fingers!

Radishgirl, it's difficult to tell with the wet soil and visible perlite but at the bottom right of the leaf I see what appears to be an above ground root.

I agree with Lin. I see soil and surface roots, but nothing that looks like new vine growth.
