So, I would love to collect some literary iris for a themed bed. It's kind of hard to search through some 80,000 possible cultivars for potential literary references so I thought I'd check to see if anyone is already familiar with irises that are named after authors, books, literary terms, etc. I know there are probably a few Harry Potter and Lord of the Ring names and those are fine but also others. I'm already aware of:

Gape Expectations
Moby Grape
Moby Dick
Great Gatsby
Poesie
Edgar Poe

I would LOVE to find any references to Jane Austen novels or other notable female authors/poets.

Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Persuasion')

I don't read fiction and I'm not familiar with any titles. I just googled Jane Austen and then googled some of her titles with the word iris in front of them and found these four pretty quickly.

To see who sells these irises in USA, try TBfinder

There's also 'Mansfield Park', 'Northanger Abbey' [both J.C. Taylor 2014] and 'Jane's Emma' [G. Grosvenor 2016] but no pictures in the database.

Standard Dwarf Bearded Iris (Iris 'Great Expectations')

Standard Dwarf Bearded Iris (Iris 'Sherlock')

Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Kapitan Nemo')

Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Jules Verne')

Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Orient Express')

Intermediate Bearded Iris (Iris 'Alice in Wonderland')

'War and Peace' (no pic in the NGA database), a true classic, but might be hard to find as it was introduced back in1943. Same with 'Bronte' from 1939, 'The Raven' 1944, and 'Oliver Twist' from 1933.

I'm sure there are many, many more...
Of course I talk to myself; sometimes I need expert advice!

Thank you so much! I think it looks like I've got some b/s/t scouring to do! I'm super excited to start my literary iris bed!
