Hello,

I got this new monstera aurea cutting with unusual stem (seems it has been cut several times). However, there are 3 intriguing spots on that stem.

My questions are:
1. From those 3 spots, which one (or more) that will be the new buds?
2. Should I fully submerge the stem into potting mix or left it above potting mix just as it is now?

I think 3 looks most promising for a new shoot. The other 2 look like new roots. Could be wrong. Just my opinion. I would leave it like it is. What is that little white thing in the first photo? That looks like a little brush?

This is my Aurea...all I could save of my old plant after a greenhouse heater mishap, but currently very happy. It originates from the edge of my stream, where it was planted under a flat rock. It has made it across the streamed, so I gave it a branch to start climbing back up. Adventitious roots have clasped on already. There is a 12 foot totem attached to the far end of the branch for it to climb when it gets that far.

Thanks for the insight Gina. The seller told me only one node that will grow the new shoot which is that no. 1 spot, but somewhat I doubt it. And oh I will check that little white thing, just realize when you said it.

Your aurea has beautiful color stripe Thumbs up
