Can anyone tell me what this is? Looks similar to a bird of paradise but no flowers?

If it is a bird of paradise is there anything I can do to help it flower?

It is a White Bird of Paradise. It does not flower as prolifically as its more colorful relative. Indoors it will not flower at all. The White Bird is a very good indoor FOLIAGE plant but is not really intended to flower.

Keep it close to a moderately sunny window and water it as soon as the top half-inch of soil feels dry to the touch.
