I've moved into a new house and I'm not sure if it is a plant or a weed. Please help. TIA

From the look of the plant and the matting underneath, it looks intentional. Try iNaturalist; it's a free app for you iPhone. You snap a picture of a plant and it gives you a pretty good idea of what it could be.

The other two suggestions are to 1. assess the placement in your yard (does it look intentional?) and 2. wait for flowers (they might give you a better idea of what it is and if you want to live with it.)

It looks like it's a geranium.

@BigAppleRoseGuy, we have a perfectly good Plant ID Forum right here, with lots of helpful members, real people, no need to send someone elsewhere.

If you add pics to show the flowers it may be possible to name your very healthy Geranium.
