Hi there,

Hope you are well.

I am trying to calculate the age of a grapevine in my garden and wondered if there is a way to tell how old a grapevine is?

Any advice would be great.

Thank you
Maria

Cut off a large mature woody stem and take a magnifying glass and count the number of rings. If you can see them and count them each ring will be a growing season. The total number of dark rings represents the age of the wood in years.
NOT A EXPERT! Just a grow worm! I never met a plant I didn’t love.✌
