I purchased this plant about a month ago from today. When I purchased, it had some small brown spots on maybe 2-3 of the leaves but I didn't think anything of it. Over the course of the month though, small leaves started falling off. I attributed this to whenever I repotted (~1 week after buying) and maybe I was being too rough during that process. But then yesterday I noticed a few more had fallen off. I'm worried that it might be due to root rot or there's a fungus but due to my inexperience, I don't know how to tell. Also whenever I look online for pictures of what rubber plants fungal problems look like, I can't find any that I feel like match what my spots look like.

As far as care for the plant, I let the plant dry out between waterings because majority of what i've read/watched online recommends that. I have started misting it in the morning to see if that helps since it seems some places recommend a more humid environment for it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated Sad

Stick your finger down the side of the pot and feel if the top inch is dry. Don't keep the soil too wet or dry because that's your problem. When you transplanted the plant into a large container you increased the water volume in the roots. Too much water will cut off the oxygen and cause harm to the plant. I think you are over watering because of he big pot.

NOT A EXPERT! Just a grow worm! I never met a plant I didn’t love.✌

The soil is dry, about 3 inches down. I don't think overwatering is my problem, but I see your point. The container is also roughly the same size as the nursery pot it came in. Should I have gotten a smaller pot size?
