New here just thought I would say hello in the daylily section since thats my new addiction. monalisa18 recomended this site and forum. I started in July and have not stopped getting seeds and daylilies. ![]() I had at my old house (lived there for 15 years) only some orange daylilies. They stayed around the pourch not spreading very much. I brought some to the new house when we moved here in May. I allways wanted lots of daylilies but the price plus shipping seamed to be alot then I found daylily seeds and oh boy.....Shhh just don't tell my husband ![]() I like doubles especialy peachy/salmon ones in those color ranges. PICOTTE ones with white edges the best would love to have a bright yellow with a realy big white edge.I bought Lightning and Miami Mood and im gonna see what they do crossed. Purples with big green eyes realy like those. Those are my top three but by all means not the only ones I like. So maby by next year I will have pictures to share love looking at everyones daylilies and their hybrids. So thank you monalisa18 for recomending this site. Those are badges. Early one, they were free. Now they cost "acorns" which you get from posting photos into the database. And just because you are addicted to daylilies doesn't mean that is what photos you can post, I have posted photos of wildflowers and other perennials. And welcome Hazel!!! We just love to enable ( don't we fellow addicts! ![]() And I started off with only red daylilies. Then it was purple, then orange, now yellow. With ruffles, with teeth, spiders, UF's, minis...... The addiction never quite seems to end. ![]() And I discovered seeds.... Had my first blooms on a few of my 45 yearlings this summer. Some pretty, some I called Ugs. Have 10 additional seedlings planted for this year. Perhaps a few of them will bloom next year. It's a way to get some genetics one might not be able to otherwise afford. Already looking to order more seeds for next year. By the way, I have only been at this for 3 years now. It doesn't take long for the addiction to develop, not long at all! Again, welcome Hazel~ Jan |

Now im understanding why everyone post pictures of their Daylilies. Kinda like free samples so everyone is addicted. Enablers all of you and Kimkats no help telling me how many registered daylilies there are. Must look up and see if there is a post for just doubles, just to look only not to write down on my want list or anything. ![]() If you would have a mind at peace, a heart that cannot harden, go find a door that opens wide upon a lovely garden. https://www.facebook.com/pages... |
