Evidently we have a very fungus-y yard. I have 2 tall elderberry bushes in front of house. One on left always had severe fungus, I cut it back to the ground 2 yrs ago and threw all in trash. One next to it looks a lot better with some fungus. After cutting back I sprayed stump and remaining bush heavily with "natural" fungicide several times. Remaining bush also had aphids being "farmed"by ants! The spray worked for the aphids but not the fungus. The left hand diseased bush came back surprisingly tall but always with curled leaves and a lot of powdery mildew too - so maybe at least 2 kinds of fungus.
Suggestions? I now have copper-based spray I was thinking of using next week, also thinking of cutting bad bush back again or maybe even digging up.
Pic is of the bad bush taken from the top from porch stairs.
