Hello,
I am writing to ask about purchasing seeds for gardening for my mother. She is in her mid 80's and is at high risk. She has been isolating for months now. But for Mother's Day, I thought to by her seeds that she can use to start a balcony garden. It is safe to by seeds (i.e. would the virus be carried on seeds/growing vegetables and flowers)?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thank you
Sincerely,

Welcome! I believe it's safe to buy seeds, if it were me and I'm 70, I'd rather have plants that are easier to take care of, rather than the hard work of starting seeds, that's just my opinion, other members will post their thoughts.

Yes. I feel that the seeds are safe. I too think that plants make a little more sense then seeds. Growing seeds takes more care, more involvement in the beginning but can be very rewarding. I'll leave the decision up to you. If you think that she can handle it, then go for it.

Christine! Thank you so much for the quick response! Much appreciated....that is very kind of you. Thank you for your thoughts. I agree that seeds are likely safe. Speaking of which...do stay safe and enjoy gardening, as therapeutic for the mind as it is for the body. Smiling
