I found my good picture, before I managed to melt them away with the wrong soil and too much water.

I have a limited size area to plant pokey things, how big will these agave get? I looked in the database and they looked like Big Bend agave? Daughter is supposed to be asking the lady they came from.

In the window box pot was early March.

In the dark, individual round pots with gravel, last week.

I have a rocky corner that teenagers have been known to like, guess where I want to put agave and yucca?

It looks like it could be Agave gentryi or something closely related. Do you know the origin of the plants? That may help get an ID. There quite a few Agaves that can look like that when young, some are more cold hardy than others, many are hybrids or similar enough in looks to each other to be hard to ID.

If that is gentryi you are talking something that eventually might reach 5-8 ft wide and 4 or so tall, but it would take a good many years to get there.
It is what it is!

that is quite scary big. Someone down near Athens, TX
gave to my daughter, she got tired of having pokey species in her flower bed and was tossing, I brought them home.

she is going to ask the lady what kind they are, but I'm not sure how quickly

8 ft would be a monster, if it is a true gentryi most plants come in at about 5-6 ft wide, still not insignificant.
It is what it is!
