Can I please have some opinions on this daylily from those of you who grow it? I've been looking for a nice pink (preferably true pink, not salmon pink), daylily with a red eye and edge. I'm considering this one, but I have to say I'm not too impressed with it's form or color on the pictues of it on the data base. Is it nicer than it looks in those pictures? Thanks for your help!!

I grew it for several years and it was short and often had splotchy blooms.I think you can find better ones in this color class.Mildred Brooker and cherry burst come to mind.

I don't grow Jordan Verhaert so can't comment on its qualities. I do have Jamaican Music, but am not sure if it is to much on the salmon pink end. It has beautiful blooms, although it hasn't multiplied much for me.

I did an advanced search on the ADS website and came up with 766 daylilies that have the color 'pink' and the descriptive keywords 'red edge' in the description. I realize that doesn't help with knowing how well they grow, but it was fun to see what popped up and may give you some ideas of other daylilies to consider.

Similar to Cherry Burst but with more edge and a kid of Jordan Verhaert is Stu Kendig's Red Exponential. He's from PA as well so maybe you could ask him about it or see it before purchasing.

Thanks Vickie. Stuart has some really nice cultivars. He worked on red eye/edges for awhile. He seems to be working in several other directions now. His work on the white project is interesting to watch if you haven't already. He also wrote an article about whites for the DJ.
