Found this in the back yard. Don't know if this a fruit or just some kind of seed. Or what is it? Never seen this before.

Can you include a ruler in the pic. And maybe more pics of different angles?

Its a type of Passionfruit.

I agree, looks to be the fruit of Passiflora of some type. For comparison, here are a couple of our database Passiflora fruit photos with a similar look:
