can anyone please help me figure out what is wrong with some of the tomatoes on my hybrid bush tomato plant. I have a couple of affected tomatoes and several that are not affected.

Welcome!

Are you growing your tomatoes in containers?

The rotting spots are caused by a calcium deficiency but, not caused by a lack of calcium in the soil. On days when a new tomato starts to form and the soil is too dry, the plant can't access the needed calcium and the fruit ends up with rotten spots (usually on the blossom end).

The solution is more consistent moisture in the soil. If it was truly a calcium deficiency, all the tomatoes would be affected, not just some.

Ok, is it something that I can fix? I'm brand new at this and I did read about blossom end rot but I assumed since it wasn't on the blossom end that it wasn't that. I water every day.

Do you make sure to water all the soil? Grow bags allow for more drying on the sides than in the middle.

Curiosity question: Are all the affected tomatoes on one side of the plant?

That's the side without enough water.

Thank you so much for your time. All of this is such a science to be learned. I've already learned so much but still have so much to learn!
