I started poppies from seed and they are very small and delicate. What do I need to do to best care for them and continue helping them grow?

What type of poppies are they? And where are they currently planted? Different poppies have different growing needs.

In my part of the country, annual poppies are autumn sowed. I can't grow the perennial types.

Out west (of here), people scatter the seed on top of the snow...

your poppies should be fine if they are out in the garden.

The only problem might be if they were planted too closely together.

I've had to go in and thin my plantings, which is very sad as the ones I pull don't survive the experience.... and when I don't thin, they thin themselves, and not in a nice way.
