HELLO, i was given this sago and ots covered in pups i have never seen one like this what do i do can i cut them off? Why is it growing like? Help some of the pups have already put out 2 sets of fronds

What a happy plant! I would not touch it for now. Will just let it grow as it goes. It is still too young to separate the babies from mommy plant.

If you want a Sago with a clean trunk, take the puppies off the minute you see them. The only reason to leave them is if you want a multi-trunked tree or you want to propagate them. Removing the larger ones will leave scars until the trunk heals. You can usually take them off by twisting them or cut the stem between the pup and mother trunk.

Pups grow but, you can limit the numbers by keeping the trunk dry.
