Dear friends,

Red muskat grapevine just developed this strange white powder/crystals infestation. I couldn't find any similar pictures online. Any suggestions on what it is and how to deal with it? I sprayed the grape bush with Sovran but it doesn't seem to help much.

Thank you so much!
Boris.

You have mealybugs and the best way to get rid of them is with alcohol wipes or q-tips dipped in alcohol. They are easy to get rid of, but you may need to treat the plant a few times before you kill them all. Check the top and bottoms of the leaves, stems, all over the whole plant. I found some on my indoor ficus and had to repeat the wipes 3 times before getting rid of them. Keep a close eye on them trying to come back and when you see a slight tint of white, hit them with the alcohol.
NOT A EXPERT! Just a grow worm! I never met a plant I didn’t love.✌
