Help for a poorly tree 😱 I've had this tree for many years the last couple of years instead of flushing lovely new leaves it has been slowly shrivelling away including bark peeling off. I think it's a Eucalyptus. low down the trunk it seems to split and inside there is dead rotten wood. Can anyone help and advise what may be wrong with what normally is my beautiful tree and what I could do to treat it ❤️

The rotting part in the middle of the tree is causing the leaf-drop, and will continue until it dies completely. The trunk consists of five main parts: the bark, inner bark, cambium, sapwood, and heartwood. All the parts are damaged due to repeated Sunscald on the trunk. Sunscald is caused from the tree freezing in the Winter and then the Sun hits the spot causing a fast temp change bursting cell tissue.
