I noticed scale infiltrating a huge specimen of cereus cactus in my garden. I cannot handpick the critters because of the plant size. I have researched treatments on line but they seem to conflict and I do not want to harm this plant. Can you advise me on the proper chemical treatment?

What kind of scale? If the ones with the waxy shell, you will have to find a systemic.
