Hi,

I have about a 1 ft tomato plant that has bubbles on the stem. I have no idea what variety it is as I started them from seed from an "mixed heirloom tomato seed packet". Any ideas what it is? Is it dangerous to my plant? Do I have to treat it?

I have 5-6 tomato plants and this is the only one that has these.

I think its growing roots on the stem. When you move it to its permanent possition, bury about half the plant. I would be more concerned with the scraped off spot in the stem.

Thank you Daisy, I'm going to try that in a few days when I plant them in a permanent spot

When I plant my tomatoes, I only leave one set of leaves and the top above the soil. I plant them out when they are much smaller - about 8 - 10 inches tall.
