|Hello! I have a terrain in Portugal that I keep wild. It is in a limestone mountain that in the spring it's absolutely covered by "wild" orchids and many, many other plants as well as oak woodland.
In the past years I've started to collect seeds and bulbs and to grow/propagate them, which has been really fun. Now I'm interested in selling some seeds and bulbs too, especially since most wild varieties are not easily available and they are so beautiful. However, the most important thing for me is that I'm working on this idea of valuing natural ecosystems by selectively harvesting, propagating and selling some plants, with the least impact possible on the species assembly and abundance. Perhaps it's an idea that can take off..?
Well, I will be updating the following list, depending on the interest that the species receive. Let me know what you're interested on! Also, I'm available to answer any question regarding these plants and their habitat.
These is what I have readily available to send:
Jasminum fruticans (Wild yellow jasmine) - 1.5 USD per 15 seeds
Muscari comosum (Grape Hyacinth) - 1.5 USD per 10 seeds --- 1.5 USD per (1) bulb
Ornithogalum narbonense (Narbonne Star-of-Bethlehem) - 1.5 USD per (1) bulb
Paeonia broteri (Wild Iberian Peony) ---This plant is a gem --- 15 USD per (1) bulb (rhizome)
Gladiolus italicus (Pink Italian Gladiolus) - 1 USD per (1) bulb (corm)
Gladiolus illyricus (Wild Gladiolus) - 1 USD per (1) bulb (corm)
Serapias parviflora (Tongue orchid) - 10 USD per (1) bulb (tuber)
Serapias lingua (Tongue orchid)- 10 USD per (1) bulb (tuber)
Orchis anthropophorum (Man Bearing Orchis) - 15 USD per (1) bulb (tuber)
Ophrys lutea (Yellow Orchid) - 10 USD per (1) bulb (tuber)
Orchis italica (Italian Orchis) - 10 USD per (1) bulb (tuber)
Anacamptis pyramidalis (Pyramidal orchid) - the scent is amazing - 10 USD per (1) bulb (tuber)
Payments are via paypal (details via PM). I must say that I've never sent any plant material to the USA, only to Europe and the UK, and thus I'm not familiar with the procedure.
