I planted several tomato and pepper plants and there are holes in the leaves. Looks like the have been eaten by something...earwigs possibly? Is this something common and how would I get rid of them?

Please post a picture. No one on this wonderful earth can advise you without a picture of the damage you are looking at. Hopefully, a picture will be beneficial to helping with your issue.
