My mom got these tulips at a store for show, and was allowed to plant them once they got root bound. They then started to turn purple and stuff. Why is wrong with them? Confused

tulips die back naturally after they are done blooming. Just leave them be...they're fine. Don't know where you live but they may even come back next year. Don't remove the foliage...just let it shrivel away.
