Will a new leaf pop out of my monstera if the stem is damaged

Just bought a 1 leaf monstera thai constellation for a fortune. I just noticed that the place a new leaf normally pops out of has been broken off! Did i just wast my money on a 1 leaf plant :,( or will a new leaf pop out of somewhere else! Thanks
