Thread OP

Hello all!

I have a beautiful philodendron hope that I've had since ~October. Over the past few months I've noticed that all the new growth comes in slightly yellow when they're fully developed. The even weirder part is that all the old growth is still a nice dark green. In the picture I provided you can see a new leaf coming in (the one i'm holding), a month old leaf to the top right of that, and finally a 4 month old leaf underneath of both.

I, for the life of me, cannot find a solid answer to what this problem is. Can someone helpa brother out?

New leaves on Philodendrons like many other genera are pale in colour after unfurling. Once the new leaf hardens off it will become a deeper green, just like the previous leaves. Hurray!

From what I can see the previous leaves do not look too yellow, but if they are truly yellow, then that could be from overwatering!

Has it been re-potted recently?

The yellowed leaf that concerns you may have gotten too much light exposure. The ones below it are more shaded.

Water quality may also be an issue. Is your tap water hard?
