I saw lots of these plants today while walking in a wooded area in Northern Virginia. I'm pretty sure they're an East Coast U.S. native, but I've never seen them before. The leaves remind me of Violets, but definitely not the blooms. Does anyone recognize them?

Never mind, someone identified them as Viola pubescens (Downy Yellow Violets) which have gone to seed.
