I have had this schefflera for a week and only now realised it has a bug.. i took a photo of the bug and of the leaves it ate. I washed it well in the shower and cut out the leaves seemingly affected. Now I am hoping someone can tell me what to do next or if they know what this bug is...please help!

You can use a small amount of dish soap and spray the leaves on the top and bottom. I use cold pressed neem on my plants and spray every 3 days for a total of 12 days to make sure i get the fresh hatched eggs..

I am sorry to disagree but I do not think that that bug did that damage in a week!
I think that you bought that plant with a serious false spider mite infestation. They feed on the undersides of leaves. That plant should not have been kept around available for purchase. The vendor should be more responsible!
I would have returned it immediately!

BigBill Ι totally agree with you! They were completely irresponsible and I should have seen it before purchasing.

oneeyeluke Thank you for your response! I will do what you suggested!
