Cactus and Succulents forum→Crassula Ovata leaves falling off

The leaves of my gollum succulent (crassula ovata) have been rapidly falling off the past few days and I'm very confused as to why
Should I be watering it more? I water it once the top inch or so of the soil dries & it's planted in perlite mixed soil
The stem also seems to be cracking which I'm also confused about

Do you take the plastic liner pot out of the decorative pot to allow drainage?

yeah i do Smiling whenever i water i always take the pot out & empty the decorative one so there's no standing water
