Spider mites thrive in hot, dry conditions. Cooler, more humid conditions slow reproductive rates considerably. You may need more water on your Emerald Green Arborvitae to help eliminate those dry conditions.
Knock Them Off With a Hose. The best way to get rid of spider mites is with a hose first.
Keep the Soil Moist.
Remove Infested Leaves and Plants.

I have three Arborvitae in a row. The center tree is very infected on the back side (i.e. brown). Should I remove this tree and work on saving the remaining two which show small areas of infection? Darn, they are so beautiful. Thank you. kathescottag
