Cody cactus needs help... We are living in Fort Worth.. we got this May 10th, haven't really watered it... however we have had lots of water, but it stays under and over hang and gets a little wet during storms. We planted it with a cactus mix soil. It looks to be diseased or dying... it was expensive so if we can prevent this it would be awesome! Please help!!

I am an amateur at this, so my dumb question is what kind of cactus is this as I am trying so research of my own

Even with the dead part of it on the bottom? Do I just cut the dead part off? Or leave it be

So from the research I've done.. just leave it outside, water every other week?

Leave it outside and water when the soil is dry.
