Hi folks.
Sorry about the previous post. I'm looking for an ID for a rose that I planted many years ago.
I think that it is either Red Rover (Red Rider) or Red Ribbons.

I recognize the name Red Rover sort of, but I've never heard of Red Ribbons. Is any one
familiar with this rose and is this it? Zuzu uploaded the photo of Red Rover in the Plants
Database, so I'm looking in her direction.

It could be either one, David. How big is the plant and how big is the bloom?

Zuzu. It's a low bush--waist high or so. The bloom is about 2-2 1/4 inches. It hasn't bloomed for the last few years. I credit a renewed feeding schedule last summer for the activity this spring.

It sounds more like Red Ribbons, a groundcover rose that can spread easily. Red Rover is a mini rose and has smaller blooms.

I just came up from the garden. The bush is a floribunda. 3-3.5 feet high with
clusters of buds. I'll look for more pictures of Red Ribbons.

Zuzu. You're right. I'm sure this is Red Ribbons. The height is right and the size of the bloom is right. I don't remember ever buying anything called "red ribbons"!

Just checked HMF for Red Ribbons and it provides the following alternative names:
Canterbury (shrub, Kordes 1990)
• Chilterns
• Fiery Sensation (shrub, Kordes 1990)
• Fiery Sunsation
• Island Fire
• KORtemma
• Mainaufeuer ®
So perhaps any might ring the bell in you! Although I do have a good memory,my age has made me particularly fussy when I can't match my fuzzy memory with a new rose name. Just a small tip to overcome that.... Green Grin!

Thanks Arturo.
I'm going to call it Island Fire. Don't remember it, but I just redubbed it.
19 years ago when I started this garden, I was young (younger) and thought
I would never forget what I was planting. Perhaps I saw no reason to remember
what I was planting. However, my garden is in a rather public space, so everyday
someone walks by and says, "What's that red one over there?" I never realize
early enough that for some people "it's a red rose" is enough. I always want
to give the longer, more precise answer.
Thanks again, Arturo, for your research.
