Dumped it in the wooded area last fall. This spring it's alive!. It has healthy looking leaves growing. I moved it to a half day sunny area. My question is, in the center of the leaves, at the base of the plant, looks like a stalk or an eye. I did not bury it. If I did it would bury part of the leaves. It was not covered last year. I planted it the same way it was before the move. Is this going to be ok or does it need to be covered? It is supposed to be a yellow one of some sort from a nursery my daughter bought me. I have never grown one before.

When it starts getting real hot you should add a couple of inches of mulch around the plant to hold the moisture in the ground and help keep it cooler. Don't let the mulch touch the stalk, keep it away about a 1/2 or so. Super find.
NOT A EXPERT! Just a grow worm! I never met a plant I didn’t love.✌
