| Hi everyone, Before I rip all of these out of the ground, can someone please help me ID them? They're all over the place (i.e., they've self seeded) and if they're beneficial or beautiful, I prefer to leave them in. However, if they're nutrition suckers, I'd rather remove them.   AKA Joey. |

The foliage and structure remind me of this, but just a wild guess. |

They're also supposed to bloom in the spring so if you're right, I should see some flowers soon and then we'll know. AKA Joey. |

So, this is what they look like today. They are about 6 or 7 inches tall, and so far, are showing no signs of flowering.   AKA Joey. |

| Well, it shouldn't be long now. This morning's growth includes emerging buds so I should have some flowers within a few days. Then we should be able to ID this thing! AKA Joey. |

| Oh, well, the flower buds have given it away. It's Queen Anne's Thimbles! Someone had introduced me to it last year when it first showed up in my tiny garden, and thanks to my beating the seed heads all over the dirt just before winter, it's all over the place now! Globe Gilia (Gilia capitata) I will post some pictures when they begin to bloom, but right now, if you like, you can follow that link to see the ones I uploaded previously.  and  AKA Joey. |
