I live in eastern iowa and am new at this. Garden doing well with 2 exceptions. Green beans are suffering from something eating the newly sprouted leaves. Ive seen some type of dead beetles at our front door but havent seen any in the garden. Also both rows of green peppers planted over 3 weeks ago never sprouted. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Wife spread some diatmaticus because she suspects slugs. We live out in country and garden right next to corn field if that helps. Let me know if youd like some additional info.

Welcome! Peppers take some time to germinate. I would say give them another week. If no sprouts then, you may want to buy plants instead. I'm not sure how long your growing season is, it might be better to proceed with plants. As for the rest, can you post some pics? That would help with your other problems. Most likely a good idea your wife had with the DE. Slugs will eat veggies close to the ground, and DE is a safe and effective way to control slugs, it that's what eating your garden.
