Hello Iris Lovers,

I'm reorganizing my flower garden and landscaping now that I'm working from home and gained two hours from no commuting. Smiling I've been reading your forum for several weeks and enjoy your photos, expertises and opinions.

I'm looking for your opinion on your favorite TB with pink-coral-salmon standards and bright purple falls as I wanted to create a few focal points using TBs. This area has purple alliums and Coral Charm peonies. There are several mixed mulched beds with boulders, a few shrubs and ornamental trees that were installed two years ago. I like "Arrivederci" and "Among the Clouds" but wanted to ask the experts' opinions as I was hoping to find a stronger contrast between the standard and fall colors.

I hope this is the type of question that it's ok to ask on this forum.

Hi TBipp! Welcome Smiling That sounds like it would be a very pretty iris, but I don't grow a lot of varieties (yet!) so can't help you. But there are lots of folks here who may be able to give suggestions!

Your landscape sounds wonderful--good luck with the project! Smiling

Welcome TBipp
My first thought was but the database said this one has maroon black falls and orange standards. But one of its offsprings looks like one you might like.
I don't have this one, but it sure is pretty.

You might also consider 'Gitano.' It may be too pink for you.

Mary, I was going to say Gitano also.

Here's: The one I had died, so you may want to ask others how it grew for them.

I was thinking :
1.Petalpalooza
2.Prague
You can look them up in data base on this site
No 1 is on Schreiner's iris garden site if not
Sorry don't know how to import pictures of them
Gitano is good as mentioned above

Welcome! tbipp.

i was also going to mention 'gitano' which has been on my want list for a long time, and will be coming on this year's orders. i don't know how it grows, but 15 members have this iris, and 7 more are wanting it. i don't know what your growing zone is; because some irises grow better in different areas than others.
. here's a couple suggestions.

It might not be as saturated color as the others, but here's what Celebration Song looks like in my garden in the morning. I think it's lovely, and here are its awards:
Honorable Mention: 1995
Award of Merit: 1997
John C. Wister Medal: 2000
Dykes Memorial Medal: 2003

This is its maiden bloom, this spring, in my garden.
