I am new to gardening and am growing a yellow squash plant in a container. I am having an issue but have not been able to figure out what is wrong with the plant through the research I have done. I am in middle Georgia. I bought the plant and used potting soil in a 5 gallon plastic nursery container. It has been quite rainy and wet the past 2 weeks, but we have also had a few sunny days in the 90s. The leaves are turning yellow and then brown, and there are also stringy brown things growing out of some of the developing blossoms. Any help identifying what is wrong and how to help it would be appreciated so much.

Your container is holding too much moisture and locking out Oxygen in the root zone. Let the soil dry well before watering again. You may have developed root rot and the plants may not return back to good health. When it rains move them out of the rain, to make sure they don't get too much water.
NOT A EXPERT! Just a grow worm! I never met a plant I didn’t love.✌
