Hi, plant newbie here!
I received this monstera 2 weeks ago and it recently started developing a dark spot on one of the leaves and the lower leaves started turning yellow. I water the plant and spray the leaves once a week, as was done by its previous owner. Does this often happen with a change of environment? Could I be underwatering the plant? One of the young leaves recently unfurled so the plant seems to be growing. Apartment is very humid and the plant sits on the floor by a north facing window and gets plenty of indirect light during the day. All help/advice is appreciated!!

I think your plant is just getting use to the environment and soil conditions. When you water your plant, make sure and water until you get just a tiny bit of runoff out of the bottom. Then allow the top 1/2 inch to dry well before watering again.
NOT A EXPERT! Just a grow worm! I never met a plant I didn’t love.✌
