I have two identical lavender that we left In Their original pots They have been there for months. They have both been growing well and flourishing. But a few days ago I saw one of them has a section in the center that suddenly went black and dead!

What was once a full bushy plant has lost half of its growth!

Any clues or ideas on what may have caused this sudden drastic change?

I'm guessing either frost damage or (a fungal infection due to) overwatering

Thanks! It's been warmer here, but we have had multiple rainy days in a row, and sitting in a pot I could easily believe it's getting overwatered. Thanks for the input, I'll start looking for a better draining pot to plant her in.
