Thread OP
My succulent has started putting off shoots and the centre seems to be getting smaller. What do I do?

Provide more light. These plants need really strong light for the best form.

Your succulent is a Sempervivum, a monocarpic type plant. The original rosette will produce a lot of offsets, bloom and die. The offsets are your future plant. You will know when it is going to bloom because the center of the rosette will start to grow upwards.
