Hi,

My dad has a pink rose bush growing in his garden and we have recently noticed a white flower growing on it. We think the flower is a Japenese Anemone white flower but aren't sure.

We aren't sure why this is growing from the rose bush. Does anyone have any ideas and is this common?

Thanks
Liam

The branch with the white flowers is from below the graft. Its the rootstock rose. Cut it off.

I think that is a standard, and the branch is coming from below the second graft.

It's a grafted tree rose and that is the rootstock, it looks like a branch of the commonly used Multiflora Rose (Rosa multiflora)
