I'm planning on putting up cedar split rail fencing in my backyard to enclose and separate the ever-changing garden from the rest of the yard. So this will be a space within a space in a way. The only local cedar posts and rails I can get is from a big box store - because I want o be able to select each piece and build it as I can spare the extra $$, this will be an ongoing project well into fall. The thing is it's a 2 rail system, not a 3 - I am thinking about cutting it down a bit because I've seen a lot of examples where the posts were shortened so that the space between the ground and the bottom rail matched the space between the top and bottom rails. I really liked the balance of that when used to enclose a garden. Does anyone have any pics of split rail fencing they can share? I've been all over Pinterest but I'd like to see as much as I can for ideas. Thanks!
Give me land, lots of land, under starry skies above. Don't fence me in.
