Hi all.. well, we just started our first attempt at growing veggies and herbs.. excited to learn, but soooooo much to learn. Wanted to ask for the communities input before I went past the point of not being able to fix my mistakes.. Hope the pics are clear enough to make a judgement. Our garden started around 11 May, and consisted of mostly peppers, some tomatoes, herbs and cantaloupe and cucumber. I have a thick skin so feel free to let me have it.. lol. I may have to load pics one at a time. Tried to load them all but it didn't work!! Thanks in advance. Charlie

Okay trying again with images. Apologize for cluttering the thread. Learning curve

Everything looks good. The cucumber in the middle of the peppers might be a problem when it uses its neighbors for a stepping stool. You could give it a tomato cage and then try to train it to climb that instead of the cucumbers.

Watch the water when the temperatures really heat up. Planters dry fast, especially black planters. Test the temperature of the soil by digging your hand down into the soil. If its got, insulate the outsides of the pots.

I too see nothing "wrong" except that cucumber between the peppers...might pose a problem if it decides to scale its neighbours as Daisyl mentioned

an alternative to trellising the cucumber you could guide the growing tip out of the box and let it sprawl around outside if you have more room there - trimming of any leaves that shade the peppers.

I've never actually grown cucumbers, but this works with melons and other garden vines - they don't necessarily need their feet very near their heads.
