I've had this chamaedorea for a few months now but over the last couple of weeks the stems have started to droop and can't hold their own weight (even the littler ones!).

I'm not sure exactly what has caused it. I have a little spray bottle and I have been spraying all my plants once a day due to the hot weather. I'm not sure whether this has made the roots start to rot or something related to overwatering, equally my bedroom where it has been gets very hot and humid, with sunshine in the day...

Either way I'd appreciate any thoughts on how I might save it?

Thanks!

Welcome! How do you decide when to water and how much do you give it?

How far away is the nearest window?

Hi!

I spray water it most days but usually when I notice the soil is dry.

It's across the room from the window but the window is floor to ceiling so the room gets a lot of sun and heat

Spraying is not a substitute for watering because spray never penetrates deep into the root zone. Water it thoroughly as soon as the top inch of soil is dry. I fear the lower roots have already been seriously compromised if that is how you have been watering.

Light intensity drops off dramatically with every foot of distance from the window. Unless the room is very tiny, across the room is too far away. Move it much closer.
