Plant ID forum→Anyone recognize this?

This plant dies back every Winter and comes back in the Spring. It does not flower and has leaves that look similar to a rose bush. The branches are woody and thornless. The bush is about 3 feet tall now. I'd love to know what it is.

Something Prunus. Purple Plum, Sand Cherry... It may be a sucker off another root system. It may be in too much shade to bloom.
