Hi all,

I recently planted tomatoes in pots. Now I've got a bunch of plants that look different from each other. I tried looking online and it seems some of them are actually weeds! Could you help me understand if what I'm growing is tomato or weeds please? I know it sounds weird but it's the first time I'm growing tomatoes and totally confused :D Thank you!

The first picture is of some sort of lambsquarters (Chenopodium).

The second picture appears to be of a tomato.

In the third picture, there are tomato leaves in the lower left corner, but most of what can be seen is smartweed and lambsquarters.

Tomato leaves have a very strong, very distinctive scent. If you crush a small part of a leaf, it will be obvious.

Ditto on number 2 being tomato.

Lambsquarter isn't necessarily a weed... related to spinach, tastes like chard... supposed to be one of the healthiest vegetables [to eat] in the entire garden!

Smartweed is also a food plant...

Don't do that! We weren't able to find any weeds!

That depends upon your definition of a weed. If you are trying to grow a tomato, Lamb's Quarters and Smartweed are weeds. Hilarious!
