I have spent a lot of time inside the last week due to the crude again. Kathleen has kept me medicated day and night, seems like the older I get the harder it becomes kick this stuff. Yesterday was the first day I felt like doing anything outside in almost a week so I did get the grass mowed. I have spent the last couple evenings redoing the web site so when you get a free moment take a look. http://www.daylilyplace.net/ |

Let me tell you, unfortunately, this web site has more gremlins when I'm typing, say like this response, but only when I have typed atleast 10,000 words, BAM WAM BOOOGLE BAM!!! Those darn gremlins jump up from below my keyboard and eat the whole response in less than a nano-second. It's allllllll gone, do you hear me??? gone!!!! Thank goodness Dot told me about typing a little bit, then hitting the finished button, and then, go back and edit your response. Works like a charm. I still sometimes forget, but if I get really long winded, I try to remember. I've never figured out just what key strokes I do to delete everything, but if I ever do, I'm going to take those keys off my keyboard! I wonder--- could these be the same little green gremlins that eat our daylily seeds out of the pods once they have dried and popped open???? We could be onto something ![]() |

Thanks Mary, and the rest, this is why I wanted some of you to look at it before I tell the world it's updated. Really surprised Michelle hasn't found something wrong, she really loves to pick on old people. Feeling much better, we have a daylily meeting tonight. |

Hey, Mona -- if those gremlins delete your typing again, try hitting Ctrl-Z on your keyboard -- it undoes gremlin edits ![]() Northwest Georgia Daylily Society I'm going to retire and live off of my savings. ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok if we are finding what the gremlins ( old people ![]() On the Other Daylilies page the gremlins made user name say "used name" (that may not be a typo though ![]() Mona, I have done the same thing and can't figure out what I am hitting to delete everything. If something is really long I will copy and paste it into a word document or notepad at certain points so I don't lose ALL of it. Or I will type it into Word first then copy/paste where I need it. At least in Word you can undo and mistakes like that easily. www.pensacoladaylilyclub.com |

Mary, I will have to try that whenever that happens to me, thanks www.pensacoladaylilyclub.com |

It happened to me when I first started using laptops regularly, back in the day (15yrs ago now? Yikes!)... my thumb would graze the touchpad and that would highlight my text, and the next keystroke would delete the highlighted text. Ctrl-Z (undo) is a life-saver. And it works in any Windows/browser application, so far as I know (can't speak to Mac or Chrome). It's a standard keyboard shortcut, like Ctrl-A to select all and Ctrl-C to copy/Ctrl-V to paste. Hey Mona, I have even hit the "finished" key and had it all disappear, so it's not just you. It is so discouraging to type a long response, even add pictures and it all disappears. Dot |

I use my "Open Office" a free document maker, when I'm posting seeds onto the Lily auction. After losing all that work, I learned real quick. It's so much easier to copy and paste into the description than to type all that stuff everytime. Again, it was Dot or Michele that told me to do this, these two sure have helped me alot. Thanks Ladies!!! I figure I'm doing something like Mary said because I type really fast and of course my hands slide over my key pad(yeap it's a laptop) so, I know it's me. I worked in IT for years and I've heard " I didn't do a thing" enough to know that "Yes, you did" is true, but it would be nice to catch myself so maybe I could stop!! I love my laptop and will update sometime in the near future and I will get another laptop. They are just so handy. This one is 5 years olds and I'm quickly running out of space and it's getting slow. I've downloaded most of my pictures but now all my programs are eating away at the hard drive and that is a problem. Plus, it's time I got a treat, Of course, I'll probably have to fix the car or something medical will happen, but that's ok, this one would probably last a lifetime. Now, if I can just stay away from the Lily Auction ![]() ![]() |

If I find I am typing a long post, I will pause and copy and paste it into the mac's textedit which is a really simple text editor. That way if Safari goes down, I have the post in TextEdit. Fred, you sure do have some mighty pretty things. I'd love to grow all your UFs ![]() ![]() |
